Smith & Conway
Craig Conway & Shaun Robert Smith (Smith & Conway) began their film making partnership in 2015 when they co-wrote ‘Broken’, a dark psychological thriller about the toxic relationship between a tetraplegic and his carer.
‘Broken’ had its world premiere on the main screen at Frightfest in August 2016 and went on to successfully screen at Grimmfest and the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival and eventually won Best Film at the Boston Sci-Fi Festival in the US. This led to Smith being nominated for the Screen International ‘Rising Star Award’. ‘Broken’ was produced by Conway and directed by Smith which starred Legend’s Mel Raido and Martyrs’ Morjana Alaoui. ‘Broken’ received critical acclaim including film critic legend Alan Jones labelling the film as “a stunning tour-de-force” and “the most powerful British debut of all time”.
Craig has since produced other independent films such as ‘Estranged’, ‘Gatecrash’, ‘Giantland’, ‘Scintilla’, ‘Four’ and ‘Devils Playground’ whilst also continuing his ongoing successful 30-year prolific career as an actor working with directors such as Mike Leigh, Neil Marshall and Scott Mann and films such as ‘Mara’, ‘Doomsday’, ‘Final Score’, ‘The Courier’ and ‘Dog Soldiers’. Craig has also written and directed various productions for stage and screen.
Multi award-winning writer/director Shaun Robert Smith has been working in films for over 20 years starting out as a prosthetics makeup designer before graduating into writing, directing & editing.
